A patch release that makes 0.10 build on React Native 0.87 and 0.88 (Expo SDK 58). No public API changed, but CLIP image embeddings now come out different, so re-embed images you stored with an earlier version. react-native-blob-util must now be 0.24.11 or newer.

Compatibility

  • iOS builds on React Native 0.87 and newer, which removed RCTCxxBridge. The JSI bindings are now installed through RCTTurboModuleWithJSIBindings (#1525 by @msluszniak).
  • Android builds on React Native 0.87 and 0.88, which ship Android Gradle Plugin 9. AGP 9 removed targetSdk from a library's defaultConfig, so the library no longer sets it. Your app's targetSdk is unaffected (#1549 by @msluszniak).
  • The react-native-worklets peer range is now >=0.10.0 <0.14.0, so apps on worklets 0.13 (required by React Native 0.88 and Reanimated 4.7) install cleanly (#1535 by @msluszniak).
  • The react-native-blob-util peer is now >=0.24.11, so a fresh install that picks blob-util 0.25 no longer hits a peer conflict. Android model downloads use the same in-process streaming path as iOS instead of the system DownloadManager, since blob-util 0.24.11 fixed the Android read that stopped after 8 KB. Models already downloaded stay where they are (#1487 by @msluszniak).
  • Bare React Native apps no longer need @babel/plugin-transform-export-namespace-from, because export * as is compiled out of the published lib/. The missing-native-artifacts error now also covers npm 12, which skips install scripts unless you run npm approve-scripts react-native-executorch (#1526 by @msluszniak).

Bug fixes

  • CLIP image embeddings apply the CLIP mean and standard deviation. They were computed on pixels only divided by 255, which none of the exported image towers (XNNPACK, Core ML, MLX, Vulkan) correct for in-graph (#1536 by @msluszniak).
  • Native libraries move to v0.10.6-libs, which changes only the Android Vulkan backend. It fixes a crash at Vulkan pipeline creation on Adreno 720 and 740 GPUs (for example the PP-OCRv6 detector) and restores the bias add in the 4-bit quantized Vulkan linear shaders (#1523 by @msluszniak).
