Key changes
This patch backports a set of iOS fixes to the 4.x line. Tabs now show their tab bar on an iPhone Duo cold-launched while unfolded, and a detached UISearchTab no longer leaves the remaining tab titles truncated. In Stack v4, cancelling an interactive dismissal of a screen pushed with UIKit's zoom transition (for example expo-router's Link.AppleZoom) keeps the back button and header items visible. SplitView gains RNSNavigationItemCustomizerProtocol, which lets third-party solutions customize a column's navigationItem, and column navigation bars now have large titles enabled, with the collapsed title shown by default.
Improvements
- iOS (SplitView): added
RNSNavigationItemCustomizerProtocol, so third-party solutions can customize a column'snavigationItem, in #5080. - iOS (SplitView): column navigation bars have
prefersLargeTitlesenabled, with the collapsed title shown by default, in #5081.
Bug fixes
- iOS (Tabs): the tab bar controller's view is sized before it is attached, so the tab bar shows on an iPhone Duo cold-launched while unfolded, in #4990.
- iOS (Tabs): the
UISearchTabtitle is set at creation, so the remaining tab titles are no longer truncated when the search tab is detached into its own platter, in #5057. - iOS (Stack v4): the navigation bar alpha is restored after a cancelled zoom dismissal, so the back button and header items of the screen that stays on top remain visible, in #5055.
This version supports React Native 0.84 and above.
