Shipping an AI Feature With Claude in 2 Days: How a Daily Wrap-Up Became a Fitness App's Most-Clicked Notification

HiFive is a fitness and core-rehabilitation app designed by physical therapists for pregnant women, mothers in postpartum recovery and busy moms. Its five-minute, equipment-free workouts focus on pelvic floor health, trimester-safe exercise and healing abdominal separation.

Software Mansion supports HiFive's development with a team of two developers. The client wanted to increase engagement, and the answer we built together was Daily Wrap-Up: an AI feature powered by Claude that ends each user's day with a personal summary of their workouts and their community. We built it with Claude Code, and it runs on Claude Sonnet 5 through the Claude API. The first version reached users in just two days.

Within a month of rolling out Daily Wrap-Up, HiFive's daily app opens rose from ~3,000 to ~8,000. Daily Wrap-Up quickly became HiFive's most-clicked notification.

Using Claude to turn daily activity into a personalized push notification

HiFive is designed for a few minutes of daily exercise, so retention matters. We wanted to make the daily push notification more relevant by combining each user’s activity with what their group discussed that day.

Every evening, Daily Wrap-Up collects two things from the past 24 hours: the workouts a user completed and activity from their non-private group chats. It sends this to Claude Sonnet 5 through the Claude API, which generates a short personalized summary. The user gets it as a push notification and can read the full wrap-up in the app. What’s important, private conversations never enter the analysis.

For users, it’s a quick way to see their progress and catch up with their community without scrolling through the whole chat. Between Jul 19 and Sep 29, 2026, Claude generated 42,124 personalized wrap-ups for HiFive users, about 577 per day.

Shipping and scaling Daily Wrap-Up with Claude

The first version of Daily Wrap-Up was deployed in 2 days with Claude Code. We then spent another 9 days refining it based on user feedback. We fine-tuned our prompts to ensure the outputs captured critical details while remaining clear, engaging, and easy to read. To validate the experience, we partnered with an advisory group of community leaders to gauge user sentiment and ensure our messaging resonated with the target audience.

Without Claude, we estimate the same feature would have taken 1–2 months. Some of the more complex parts would likely have been cut to meet that timeline. With Claude Code, we could ship quickly without compromising on the feature’s complexity, then refine it with real users.

Daily Wrap-Up runs on about $200 of Claude API usage per month. At roughly 577 summaries per day, that’s about 1 cent per personalized summary. We selected this model for its exceptional balance of strong reasoning capabilities and cost efficiency. Considering our plans for long-term scalability, it was the clear choice to ensure both high performance and economic viability.

At around 1 cent per personalized summary, this gives us a cost structure that can comfortably support the growth we’re expecting for HiFive, making the feature sustainable as the app scales.

Measuring the AI wrap-up against workout reminders

To see whether Daily Wrap-Up actually moved engagement, we put it side by side with HiFive's workout reminders. It didn't take long to see the difference – the AI-written wrap-up quickly became the most-clicked notification in the app, averaging 20.7 clicks a day compared to 14.8 for workout reminders, with a ~40% higher unique open rate.

One month after Daily Wrap-Up launched, average daily app opens increased from around 3,000 to 8,000 (+166%). For HiFive, each additional open is another opportunity for a user to start a workout or check in with their group.

Between Aug 31 and Sep 29, 2026, ~31% of unique users used Daily Wrap-Up, with 17% opening it through the push notification. That suggests the feature is doing what we intended: giving users a reason to come back to the app.

"As a small company, we're always choosing what to build and what not to build. Working with Software Mansion and using AI meant we didn't have to choose. The idea we were excited about got shipped in a matter of days."

Results

With Claude Code, the first version of Daily Wrap-Up reached users in 2 days, and after 9 more days of fine-tuning based on user feedback, the feature was complete. That's about 11 days in total, compared to an estimated 1–2 months without AI.

Once live, Daily Wrap-Up became HiFive’s most-clicked notification, with a ~40% higher unique open rate than workout reminders. AI helped us ship faster, iterate with real users, and build a notification that gave people a stronger reason to come back to the app.
